2ND Week of makeup games
This week in the Dart League we had 2 final ‘Makeup games’. The 1st one saw the “League Champs” Dryland ‘sandwiching 4-3 & 9-5 wins around a 5-1 loss to St. Paul’s. Leading hitters for Dryland were Lou Dervarics 6 for 12, Nathan Phares 5 for 12(HR),Rich Durn 4 for 8, Butch Silfies 4 for 11, and Larry Golick with a HR. Paul Slimmon 6 for 11, Tom Unger 5 for 12(HR), Rich Kern 4 for 12, & Jennifer Erkinger 4 for 12 for St. Paul’s.
The other match finds Light of Christ beating Emmanuel 1-0 & 2-1(on Norm Schoenberger’s triple in the bottom of the ninth of Game 3), losing the ‘opener’ 1-0(on Judy Hoffert’s HR ’mistake’!!!).Top hitters included Eric Harper 5 for 12 and Norm Schoenberger 4 for 12 for Light of Christ, while Jeremiah Amiani was 5 for 12, Bob Bast 4 for 12, with Jeff Hoffert also hitting a ‘mistake’ HR for Emmanuel.
Make up Games
Dryland wins the Suburban Dart League for the 2nd time in a row, 9th overall(with a 1½ year off for COVID) as the only team that could catch them; Light of Christ lost 2 games to Star of Bethlehem 3-0 & 5-2, winning the nightcap 1-0. Leading the way for Star of Bethlehem was Bill Hoke Sr. 6 for 11(HR), Scott Hoffert 5 for 14, Kyle Taylor 4 for 11. Eric Harper was 4 for 11 & ‘Buzz’ Heidecker adding a HR for Light of Christ.
After losing the ‘opener’ to Christ UCC 4-2(on a 2 run HR by Eric Yocum), Farmersville came back to win 4-2 & 7-4 in 10 innings. Hitters included Dave Campbell 6 for 11, Wade Chilmonik 5 for 12, Kyle Campbell 5 for 13 & Ben Kerbaugh 4 for 14(HR) for Farmersville. For Christ UCC, Ed Yost was 5 for 12(HR), Eric Yocum 5 for 13(2 run HR), Keith Laudenslager 5 for 14(HR), & Kevin Biechy 4 for 12(HR).
In other ‘Makeup games’, Star of Bethlehem ‘sandwiched’7-3 & 5-0 wins around a 7-6 in 15 innings loss to St. Paul’s. Top hitters for Star of Bethlehem were Scott Hoffert 6 for 9, Bryan Frankenfield 6 for 14, with HR’s from Joey Hoffert & Tyler Frankenfield, while Paul Slimmon was 8 for 14 & Tom Unger with a HR for St. Paul’s.
Ebenezer took 2 games from Light of Christ 5-2 & 3-2, losing the middle game 4-1. Top hitters for Ebenezer were Connor Lankay 4 for 12, Carol Voortman 4 for 12(2 HR’s) & Jonathan Wieand 3 for 5(HR). For Light of Christ, Eric Harper was 4 for 12(HR).
Week 27
With Dan Halteman going 9 for 16, Andy Mickelson 7 for 15, Norm Schoenberger 4 for 13, Terry Knauss 4 for 16, & Todd Jones with a HR, Light of Christ ‘swept’ St. Paul’s 3-2(15 innings), 6-4 & 5-3 to move into 2nd place in the Dart League. For St. Paul’s, Tom Unger was 7 for 15, Roger Kern 6 for 15(2 run HR), Paul Slimmon & John Hoysan 4 for 15 each with HR’s from Larry Kneller & Amber Gross.
Dryland guaranteed themselves of at least a tie for the championship, ‘sandwiching 5-1 & 7-5(10 innings) wins around a 8-2 loss to Emmanuel. Leading hitters for Dryland were Shawn Sigley 6 for 12, Bernie Yurko & Nate Phares 5 for 13 apiece & Lou Dervarics with a HR. Bob Bast was 9 for 14(HR) including 7 hits in a row, with Jon Rice & Jeremiah Amiani going 5 for 14 each and Judy Hoffert 4 for 8 for Emmanuel.
In other action, Farmersville won 3-1 & 7-0, losing the ‘nightcap’ 4-0 to Star of Bethlehem. The final match of the night finds Ebenezer ‘sandwiching’ 5-4 & 4-2 wins around a 5-2 loss to Christ UCC. For Ebenezer, Charlie Costanzo was 6 for 12(HR), P.J. Week 26
Tonight was record book night for one player (good) and 1 one team (not so good). The Good - John Hoysan playing for St. Paul's hit a Grand Slam. The Not So Good - Farmersville happened to have a NO Hit Game.
With a ‘sweep’ of Star of Bethlehem by scores of 8-6, 3-0, & 5-2, Dryland expanded their lead at the top of the Dart League. Leading the way for Dryland were Jim Goldman 9 for 13(HR), Shawn Sigley 6 for 14, & Butch Silfies with a HR. Bill Hoke Jr. was 5 for 12 & Joey Hoffert had a HR for Star of Bethlehem.
St. Paul’s lost the ‘nightcap’ 7-0 to Christ UCC after winning the first 2 games 6-2 & 13-2. Top hitters included Tom Unger 6 for 12, Amber Gross 6 for 12(2 HR’s), Paul Slimmon 5 for 12, Roger Kern 5 for 14, & John Hoysan with a “Grand Slam” for St. Paul’s. For Christ UCC, Eric Yocum was 5 for 11, Joe Hunsicker 5 for 12, Susie Gasper 4 for 11, Donnie Laudenslager 4 for 11(HR), with HR’s from George Gasper(2) & Jason Matula.

The final match of the night saw Light of Christ ‘sandwiching’ 3-0 & 4-1 wins around a 5-1 loss to Emmanuel. Leading hitters for Light of Christ were ‘Buzz’ Heidecker 4 for 7, Charlie Mann 4 for 11, with a HR from Dave Casey. Chuck Achenzie was 5 for 12, Judy Hoffert 4 for 10(HR), Jeremiah Amiani 4 for 11, & Jim Hill 4 for 12 for Emmanuel.
Week 25
This week in the Dart League we find Dryland staying in 1st place by ‘sandwiching 7-4 & 8-3 wins around a 5-4 loss to St. Paul’s. Top hitters included Bernie Yurko going 8 for 13(HR), Dave Crouthamel 6 for 13, with a HR from Earl Sigley. For St. Paul’s, John Hoysan was 7 for 13, Rich Kern 6 for 13, Don Biggs 5 for 13. How about a true pressure situation for Amber Gross. The Scenario has St. Paul's trailing 4 to 3 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. Amber is up to bat and the next batter in the lineup is "John Doe". Her teammates are putting the pressure on her about needing a Home Run. Amber's first dart lands in the center of the Home Run to tie the game and St. Paul's wins the game in the tenth inning.
Christ UCC moves back into 2nd place & despite Garry Hunsicker’s “Triple Play” with 3-1 & 4-1, losing the ‘middle game’ 1-0 to Farmersville. Hitters for Christ UCC were Eric Yocum 6 for 9(3 HR’s) & Keith Laudenslager 4 for 11(HR) while Dave Campbell was 4 for 10 & Wade Chilmonik with ‘3 hits’ for Farmersville.
In other action, Ebenezer beat Light of Christ 1-0(finally scoring a run in the 11th inning) & 6-1, losing the ‘nightcap’ 5-4(on Dan Halteman’s triple in the bottom of the 9th)). Dryland remains in 1st place in the Dart League with 5-4 & 5-2 wins over Ebenezer losing the ‘opener’ 5-1, despite the effects of the "Little Out". Dryland hit 11 "Little Outs", led by Bernie Yurko (3 in 1 game) and Larry Golick each hitting 4 of them.. Leading hitters for Dryland were Bernie Yurko 6 for 14, Lou Dervarics 5 for 12, Earl Sigley 5 for 14, & Jim Goldman 4 for 11. For Ebenezer, Carol Voortman was 5 for 11, Connor Lankay 5 for 13(2 HR’s), with Jim Voortman(‘Stole Home’ & a HR), P.J. Yoder(HR) & Brendan Blevins all going 4 for 12.
The only ‘sweep’ of the night saw Star of Bethlehem beating Christ UCC by scores of 10-0, 9-4 & 8-5. Week 23
This week in the Dart League finds the “Brooms” coming out as every match of the night was a ‘Clean Sweep’. The 1st one finds Dryland taking over sole possession of 1st place beating Christ UCC 4-3, 4-3(on a Jim Goldman’s 2 run HR in the 9th inning), & 7-6(on Earl Sigley’s HR in the 9th inning). Leading hitters were Jim Goldman 6 for 11, Butch Silfies 6 for 12, Bernie Yurko 5 for 12, Earl Sigley 5 for 13, & Nate Phares 4 for 12 for Dryland. For Christ UCC, Eric Yocum was 6 for 12(HR), George Gasper 5 for 12(2 HR’s), Joe Hunsicker 4 for 12, with HR’s from Kevin Biechy & Sue Gasper.
With Todd Jones going 6 for 10(2 run HR), Norm Schoenberger 4 for 12, & Eric Harper getting his name in the ‘Record Book’ with a “Base on Ball’s”, Light of Christ won 5-2, 4-3, & 2-1(the go ahead run scoring on a ‘Balk’ by Dan Halteman) over Star of Bethlehem. It was Farmersville taking Emmanuel by scores of 2-1, 7-1 & 2-0. Top hitters included Tom George 7 for 12 & Sue Grim 5 for 12 for Farmersville while Judy Hoffert & Troy Haydt(HR) had ‘3 hits’ each with Al Nesbit with a HR for Emmanuel.
The final match of the night saw Ebenezer winning over St. Paul’s 6-1, 6-5, & 4-2. Leading the way for Ebenezer were Brendan Blevins 5 for 7, Paul Yoder 4 for 12, with HR’s from Charlie Costanzo, Zani Blevins & Jim Voortman. For St. Paul’s, Amber Gross was 4 for 10, Roger Kern 4 for 14 & Larry Keller with a HR.

This week Dryland moves into a tie for 1st place with Christ UCC with a ‘sweep’ of Farmersville by scores of 5-4, 6-5 & 6-1. Leading hitters for Dryland were Lou Dervarics & Bernie Yurko 6 for 12 apiece, Earl Sigley 5 for 12(HR), & Butch Silfies 4 for 8. Dave Campbell was 6 for 12, Ben Kerbaugh 6 for 13(HR), Tom George 5 for 13(HR), Kyle Campbell 4 for 8(HR), & Sue Grim 4 for 10.
Christ UCC still has a share of 1st place despite losing a pair of games to Light of Christ 4-0 & 3-0 winning the ‘nightcap’ 6-2. Top hitters included Eric Harper, Andy Mickelson, & Todd Jones(HR) all going 5 for 12 for Light of Christ while Ed Yost was 5 for 10 with 2 run HR’s from Susie Gasper & Keith Laudenslager for Christ UCC.
In another ‘sweep’ of the night saw Star of Bethlehem beating St. Paul’s 2-1, 4-3, & 3-1. Hitters for Star of Bethlehem were Scott Hoffert 7 for 13, Bryan Frankenfield 5 for 12, & Walt Hoffert 4 for 11. The only hitter for St. Paul’s was Roger Kern with ‘3 hits’.
The final match of the night finds Emmanuel winning 5-3 & 2-1 over Ebenezer, losing the ‘opener’ 5-3. By ‘sandwiching’ 1-0(the only run was on a Joe Hunsicker HR) & 5-0 wins around a 6-4 loss to Emmanuel, Christ UCC remains in first place. Other hitters included Donnie Laudenslager 4 for 11 & Kevin Biechy with a HR for Christ UCC. For Emmanuel, Troy Haydt was 5 for 12, Judy Hoffert 4 for 11, Bob Bast 4 for 13 & Chuck Achenzie 4 for 13.
After a 5-4 loss to Dryland, Light of Christ came back to win 7-3 & 8-3. Leading the way for Light of Christ were Andy Mickelson 7 for 14, Terry Knauss 6 for14, Dave Casey 5 for 12(all singles), Norm Schoenberger 5 for 13(2 run HR), Todd Jones 5 for 14(HR), Dan Halteman 5 for 15(missing hitting the ‘cycle for the night’ by a single), & ‘Buzz’ Heidecker 4 for 12. Bernie Yurko was 5 for 12 & Earl Sigley with a 2 run HR for Dryland. Dryland hit 9 "Little Outs" for the night.

Week 19
This week in the Dart League we find a match for 1st place with Christ UCC regaining sole possession of 1st place with a ‘sweep’ of St. Paul’s by scores of 6-2, 5-2, & 9-3. Leading the way for Christ UCC were Joe Hunsicker 7 for 14, Garry Hunsicker 6 for 15, Eric Yocum 5 for 11 with HR’s from Sue Gasper, George Gasper, Steve Hunsicker, & Keith Laudenslager. Roger Kern was 5 for 11, John Hoysan 4 for 11, & Rich Kern 4 for 12 for St. Paul’s.
It was almost a 'Double or Nothing Night' for Dryland as they had 32 doubles out of 38 hits for the night. They ‘sandwiched’ 8-3 & 8-4 wins (which including a run scored on a ‘Stole Home’ by Star of Bethlehem & a ‘Stolen Base’ for a run by Dryland) around a 7-2 loss to Star of Bethlehem. Top hitters for Dryland included Bernie Yurko 9 for 13, Butch Silfies 6 for 12, Larry Golick 6 for 14, Dave Crouthamel 5 for 12, & Shawn Sigley 5 for 13. The only match played this week was Star of Bethlehem ‘sweeping’ Emmanuel 4-2, 6-1, & 6-0. Hitters included Kyle Taylor 7 for 10 with HR’s from Austin Hoffert & Tyler Frankenfield for Star of Bethlehem while Bob Bast was 6 for 12 with HR’s from Al Nesbitt & Troy Haydt for Emmanuel.
Week 17
This week in the Dart League, Christ UCC & St. Paul’s remain in a tie for 1st place each winning a pair of games. Christ UCC beat Star of Bethlehem 11-4 & 5-0, losing the nightcap 3-2. Top hitters for Christ UCC were Steve Hunsicker 7 for 13, Eric Yocum 6 for 13, Jason Plutula 6 for 13(2 HR’s), and Sue Gasper with a HR. Bryan Frankenfield was 4 for 11 & Zoie Coronado added a HR for Star of Bethlehem.
St. Paul’s lost the ‘opener’ 2-1 to Emmanuel, coming back to win 3-2 & 11-0. Leading the way for St. Paul’s was Roger Kern 5 for 9, Rich Kern 5 for 12, & Jennifer Erkinger 5 for 13(HR). For Emmanuel, Jon Rice was 5 for 11, Jim Hill 4 for 11, & Troy Haydt with a HR.

The final match finds Light of Christ taking 2 games from Farmersville 5-1 & 1-0, losing the ‘nightcap’ 2-1. Leading hitters included Terry Knauss 6 for 13, Dave Casey 4 for 10, Andy Mickelson 4 for 12, with HR’s from Todd Jones & Rich Hasonich for Light of Christ, while Jason Steigerwalt was 4 for 12(HR) including the ‘Game winning triple in Game 3’ for Farmersville.
Week 16
As we resume play in the Dart League after a ‘Holiday Break’, we find Christ UCC remaining in 1st place with St. Paul’s despite losing a pair of games to Dryland 3-0 & 7-6, winning the middle game 4-1. The two teams managed to combine for 8 runs in the ninth inning of game 3 as Dryland scored 5 runs and Christ UCC came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth. Leading the Dryland hitters was Butch Silfies 6 for 12(HR) with Bernie Yurko & Nate Phares each going 5 for 12, Earl Sigley 4 for 14, & HR’s from Rich Durn & Lou Dervarics. For Christ UCC George Gasper & Garry Hunsicker went 5 for 11 apiece, Joe Hunsicker 5 for 13, Ed Yost 4 for 10, Keith Laudenslager 4 for 11, & Kevin Biechy with a HR.

Leading the way for Light of Christ was Dan Halteman 8 for 13, with Terry Knauss going 6 for 13, Buzz Heidecker 5 for 10, Andy Mickelson 4 for 13, & a 2 run HR from Chris Knauss. Ed Yost was 5 for & Jason Matula 4 for 10 for Christ UCC.
Ebenezer lost the ‘nightcap’ 6-0 to Emmanuel after taking the first 2 games 3-2 & 3-0. Leading the way for Christ UCC were ‘The Hunsicker’s’, Garry(Dad} 6 for 13, son’s Joe also 6 for 13, & Steve 6 for 14, with HR’s from Don Laudenslager, Eric Yocum & Kevin Biechy. Jon Rice was 6 for 12(HR), with Bob Bast & Chuck Achenzie were each 5 for 13 for Emmanuel.
After a 9-0 loss to Light of Christ, Dryland came back to win 3-0 & 5-1. Top hitters included Rich Durn 6 for 11, Jim Goldman 4 for 12, & Shawn Sigley 4 for 13 for Dryland, while Charlie Mann was 5 for 11 & Dave Casey added a 2 run HR for Light of Christ.

After a 5-4 loss to Ebenezer, Christ UCC came back to win 2-0 & 4-2 to remain in 1st place in the Dart League. Keith Laudenslager was 5 for 13 & George Gasper had a HR for Christ UCC, while Paul Yoder was 5 for 13(HR), PJ Yoder 4 for 12(HR) & a HR from Charlie Costanzo for Ebenezer.
With Rich Kern going 5 for 12(Game winning hit in Game 3), Don Biggs & Kevin Gross each 4 for 11 & Tom Unger with a HR, St. Paul’s ‘swept’ Light of Christ 4-1, 6-1 & 2-1. Norm Schoenberger was 4 for 11 for Light of Christ.

Star of Bethlehem lost the ‘nightcap’ 7-4 to Emmanuel after winning the first 2 games 11-3 & 6-2. For Star of Bethlehem it was “Hoffert” night as Austin was 7 for 12, Jacob 5 for 10, Scott 5 for 12 & Joey with a HR.
